Good Morning Habits to Help you Start your Day Right

We all know this feeling: Monday mornings the alarm always goes off to early. You turn over and hit the snooze button. How often do you think to yourself "if I had just gotten up earlier, I could have accomplished so much more"? How wonderful it would be to start off the day full of energy, with plenty of time to enjoy a coffee and breakfast without constantly checking the clock.

But wait a second... this is possible! How you spend the first ten minutes of your morning could be the difference between having an effective and successful day or a stressful, dreary one. You shouldn't waste these minutes on hitting the snooze button. A little bit of discipline could give you extra time and spare you some stress.

Good organization doesn't always mean writing everything down in a notebook: time management and planning is just as important. And sometimes just an extra coffee in the AM doesn't help, which is why we hope that you find these decaffeinated life hacks helpful in your personal and professional lives.

There are plenty of people who have find it easy to wake up at 6 AM (or even earlier). Have you ever asked yourself, when observing the co-workers who are full of energy and creative long before lunchtime, how they do it? Do they require less sleep than you? Don't they have any other responsibilities, like grocery shopping or doing laundry?

It's all a matter of acquiring good habits. When you plan to wake up early, have a good breakfast, and maybe once a day drink a healthy smoothie, eventually, these changes will become natural to you. It won't be easy; you'll need discipline and patience! In order to stay motivated, consider asking a friend if they'll try doing the same - this way, you can support each other and regularly share stories on what waking up earlier has helped you achieve.

A mistake that plenty of people make - the snooze button. Once you've made a habit of using it, your brain and body become accustomed to the idea that the first alarm doesn't mean you actually have to wake up. If you have a specific reason to wake up really early, put your alarm next to the coffee machine to get yourself up and moving.

For everyone else who is still losing the battle to the snooze alarm... check out this great (if not a bit extreme) solution - an alarm clock with wheels that you have to chase to turn off!

We actually wanted to write that you should start the day off with some cardio or other type of exercise to get a kick of energy in your morning. We tried it out... unfortunately, exercising in the morning can take up a lot of time. So we put a stop to that experiment!

That's why we're offering an alternative: yoga in bed! No workout clothes or mat needed. If you don't feel like going for a jog or to the gym before the sun has even come up, then this book should be perfect for you.

Breakfast is Ready

Okay, we've got the first part of the day out of our way. You're awake and freshly showered! Now to just quickly gulp down a coffee and head out, right? Wrong!

We know that we might be repeating ourselves, but breakfast is really important. After a good night's sleep, your blood sugar levels may be a little low, and a protein-filled breakfast can do wonders for that. If you're not hungry, you can focus on everything you need to, whether it be studying, working or being creative!

No time? A smoothie to-go is just as great!
